Consciousness and sentience seem to be the only aspects of the universe with a supernatural component. If the universe is mechanistic and subject to predictable natural laws, how can you explain the human mind, which is hard to imagine as predictable.

According to the article, everything about being human is materialistic and physical so I think the article mostly missed the entire point about what it is to be human because it didn't mention the spiritual side.
