Having seen several AFVs with 'squared' camo areas… presumably simulating digital 'pixels'… what is the thinking behind this? Have even seen 'extemporised' square camo patches. Given that much 'observation' from inside an AFV is now via digital camera and other vision aids may be digitally enhanced… does this camo actually work? Visual or I.R? Does it 'confuse' the image or the observer's enterpretation of the image? I just cannot see why it should have more effect than 'normal' disruptive camo, if not to 'break up' digital imagery, somehow? |

I'm told the Ukrainians use pixel camo style. |

Interesting article. Seems to concentrate on visual 'perception', rather than any 'tech' enhancement… but that was 70s? The BTR camo looks pretty effective… the track, less so… but the 'mud' best! lol. |

Yeah, that 'weird' urban camo. It sort of works at a distance… but did not take on… MBTs are not meant for 'urban' fighting. |

If all vehicles of a particular type use the same camouflage then more difficult for enemy to track units and formations The Minecraft look might be easy to standardise. The BAOR scheme was for use in Berlin Urbanity |

Anyone know when the pixel camo was introduced? Was it around in the 2014 war? While we're on the topic, anyone have ideas for how to paint it in 1/300 scale? Here's an interesting article on UK use of the pixel camo: link Thanks! |
