I applaud the Perrys to sculpt and to produce those miniatures showing the very very special field dress of the Saxon infantry and artillery of 1806. The grenadiers had a black was skin cover for their grenadier caps, and otherwhite above the white coat a so calle Kittel (kind of Frock) made of natural linen was worn over the white uniform coat and as well as buttone overals – also of natural linen was worn.

the officers did wear either a blue greyish Interimsrock (coat with one row of buttons) or the Überrock (sort of redingote). I did not base the command miniatures there I am still deliberating how to arrange them, I will need a second coloour bearer as well, to show the white and regimental colours.

As usual in those recent days I used Contrast colours with the exception for flesh and the white.

One officer in white dress – it is pretty evident why this wasn't worn on campaign, he whould very much shout out to be targeted.

What paint brand and color did you use for the coats and pants?

von Winterfeldt02 Mar 2022 11:41 p.m. PST

priming was done in GW Grey Seer, for the coats than Ally's brown liquid and adding a bit dark blue to create the blue grey, for the trousers a wash of artist water colour charcoal grey but then highlighted with GW Corax white, to create a more cold grey impression to create some contrast

to create the blue grey, is of course nonsense, it should read brown grey or warm grey.
