Strelets makes 1/72nd scale soft plastic figures. They are based in Ukraine. I have a lot of them and many more are on my want list. I decided that perhaps they could use a little support during this trying time. I made my largest ever Strelets order today from Hannants. It seemed like a good idea to purchase some of our favorite army men today as a concrete way to show our support for a great company and a courageous people. No matter how current events go, it will not hurt to increase the demand for products from Ukraine. I figure this is a small thing, but it's something those of us can do who collect 1/72nd scale troops. I know it won't get money to them directly, but it will help to create more demand for their products. So perhaps if your wish list has a few Strelets figures you might want to consider buying them sooner rather than later as a way to show support for the company and the people of Ukraine. I believe that Red Box is also based in Ukraine. Red Box also produces 1/72 plastic figures, which are of very good quality, historical, and fantasy. I received an order from them two weeks ago. I wish all of the people of Ukraine the very best. As a gamer, I have a very small, personal interest in the country. This is a scary time for them as a nation. Cheers! |

And Dark Alliance (part of Red Box). I thought Strelets were Russian, but I'm probably wrong. Zvezda are definitely Russian, and may become hard to get I'd imagine. |

I recently bought some Dark/Light Alliance dwarfs and orcs from PM Store (Plastic Models Store) in Kyiv. The order included a friendly greeting from a man named Kolia and four wrapped pieces of Ukrainian hard candy! I wish them all he best, especially Kolia. The figures, by the way, were really excellent. It's likely that's the last we'll see of them. |

Ok – thanks! That makes sense. Strelets have an incredible range, even though I have several lifetimes of plastic figures still to paint they are always tempting. Especially the boxes with all variant figures (although the later figures are generally better sculpts). I hope they can survive – I can't imagine that shipping out toy soldiers is a top priority right now. |

I love Strelets. Their Imperial Romans are great. They are getting better all the time. |

I was under the impression that Orion was also from Ukraine. Or are they also part of Red Box these days? I have to admit that I have never bought any of their products, though one local hobby store used to have a few of their packs in stock once upon a time. According to the reviews on PSR, they have some very interesting cavalry sets, such as the Cossacks. |

Also Mini-Art who make excellent boxes of figures. It's perhaps not the most important thing to worry about in the Ukraine right now (something of an understatement!) but the list here: link shows up just what a hive of hobby activity that country is. Unimodel and ICM too for those who make/use kits. |
