Just started a Crimean war project with strelets plastics and so far quite pleased with how their figures turn out. Would be interested in others people views on using soft plastics YouTube link |

Have always been tempted by the Crimean war….have considered it in 15mm, using Eureka's figs….or 1/72…these actually look better than I thought….may go 10mm….AAARRRGGGHHH…. |

I have a similar collection of Strelets Crimean plastics and I am very pleased with them. They are not the greatest sculpts, but they paint up nicely. I think you would be hard pressed to find another company that covers the period so thoroughly. |

I actually have done it in 15mm. All of it is painted. Rank and File plus Minifigs. However, I love 1/72 so bought em up. Thanks John |

Very good video Scotty, enjoyed watching that and have subscribed in the hope of seeing further Crimean plastics as your project progresses. Impressed with the animation in the units you have painted so far and look forward to seeing some British and Russian line infantry. I do the Crimean war in 6mm (even cheaper!), but mainly because I paint mostly on commission for others. I do loads of 1/72nd plastics for my main customer, mostly Strelets, but WSS period. I too am really impressed with the quality of the sculpts and figures. I have a 1/72nd tab on my blog (which is mostly just a painting blog). Anyway, I'll be following you along now and you might care to see my 6mm Crimea armies on my latest post, close to 2,000 now but I must say I'm very tempted to try some of these box sets now! All the best, Lee. link |
