I decided my Canvas Eagles collection absolutely needed a Zeppelin. I found the files on Thingiverse for a 1/385 P-Class ship so off I go. After rescaling and cutting to fit my printer (Prusa Mk3) it came out to 11 pieces. I printed at .2 layer on a .4 nozzle most of it at 120% speed. It came in around 100 hours of print time. I went with the plain tan canvas look with a little color on the gondolas and top gunnery station. Final model looks pretty good in my opinion. I hope to design a convention game around it with he Allies trying to intercept and the ship using its 8 Parabellums in defense along with maybe a couple of escort fighters. Fun times ahead.

Wow! I'd love to have one of those.

Wow! That looks really neat!

Every game/movie/display/Pulp story/etc. is better with a Zeppelin!

Thanks for sharing.

Woah… that's a monster.

A few years back at Nashcon there was a Wings of War game which included a scratch-built Zeppelin. The top was flat so that the bases could sit on it and a plane could move along the long axis, as if strafing.
The entire scenario was about shooting it down before it reached its bombing target. Although the GM was just going to advance the Zeppelin from turn to turn (as it never did any maneuvers but flying straight), a nine-year-old boy showed up who wanted to fly the Zeppelin. He gleefully picked it up and carried it forward every turn, then handed out damage cards. He had an absolute blast.
One of the best games of WoW I ever played.

What do you see as your final cost for it?

Flew against one of those last week.

It used a little over a 1kg spool of pla filament. So probably around $22 USD in material.

Flew one in a Red Baron game in the 90's. In RB, you plot your movements then execute simultaneously. I stopped, because I could hover. I thought they would overrun me… The Fighters plowed into my Zeppelin, which withstood the impacts -- the Fighters died. It was hilarious! My top speed was 30 MPH, they topped out at 120 MPH. They expected me to run for it -- hah! My rookie crew flew it off the table, losing their green status. Very memorable game. Have fun! Cheers!

You could make a small fortune manufacturing those.

It makes me happy I use 1/300 scale aircraft. I bought one of these:

At 1:350 scale, if used as a P class Zeppelin, the scale error is less than 15%. I am also considering purchasing 1:350 scale aircraft on Shapeways, as historically one would need just a small number of just a few types.
