Prepping up for an AZW scenario, and enjoyed getting this small group of figs ready for the upcoming game.

Buller's mounted scouts are out on patrol, and at early morning the scene unfolds on a detail of pioneers from the Natal Native Contingent working to improve the area road. As the sun begins to bake the surrounding savannah, another day promises to be a hot one.

Looks just like roadworkers in our area as well. Which guy is responsible for the coffee?

Well, that's a possible new angle you've introduce to the scenario……Protect The Coffee! :)))

They've got a work camp just up the road, but darn-it, I forgot the coffee pot!

Looks pretty good.

So – looks like 3 working and 3 watching

Must be a city works department job!

Seriously, looks great

I think they're suspicious, that something's up…..otherwise they probably wouldn't have been included in the scenario.

Seriously though, thanks guys for the kudos.

Good looking little unit. A favorite of my own. I used converted Ral Partha Gurkhas for my detachment.

"I used converted Ral Partha Gurkhas for my detachment."

Nice idea Colonel!

I've had a game idea on the back burner for years, it's call "Durnford was right". The basis is that the Zulus don't attack the camp and instead attempt to roll up Chelmsford's column from the rear. The first force they run into is the royal artillery with NNP and some returning NNC.

Colonel, we're thinking along similar encounter lines.

My scenario pool is coming from the fluid situation in the north, where I can draw in the Qulusi and a main Zulu impi, versus Wood's Imperials, Colonial cavalry, his "Irregulars", and a Burgher contingent (ripe ground for creating some varied, small to medium size actions in the time frame around Ntombe, Hlobane, and Khambula).

I've painted up these figs concurrent with the Natal Pioneers (as some post-Isandhlwana shooters).
