Since a Napoleonic era movie thread, why not one for 18th century? Actually there are more I suspect made with 7YW, and American Revolution.

But to start found one off the beaten path
Fridericus – youtu.be/nVm8wMdE4rQ

A few favourites for me are:-
Scaramouche (1952) link
Moonfleet (1955) link
Kidnapped (1971) link
The Master of Ballantrae (1953) link

The music and battle scenes in Barry Lyndon are good, but short. Best rendition of The British Grenadiers ever, especially the drums.

Der Grosse Konig – 1943

No subtitles so didn't understand a word, fantastic uniforms, thousands of extras, good formations but again bad examples of linear warfare. Beginning and end are only battle scenes.

One observation so far, they make Frederick way older than he was during the 7YW, my calculations he was mid 40s but actors playing him are 70s.

Kidnapped (1971) and The Sovereign's Servant (2007). Didn't understand a word of the latter, it being in Russian but there is some great scenes of Poltava.

How about Peter Watkins 1964 "Culloden"? Docu-drama – but still a movie with actors acting etc.

Also 2007 "The Sovereign's Servant".

The mini series on Peter the Great – 1986 – was pretty good as well. Recent one on Catherine the Great was bad.

Last of the Mohicans – 1992.

Last of the Mohicans is one of my favorites

Love the "Last of the Mohicans" 1992 and the Randolph Scott version. "Drums along the Mohawk" Love it. Barry Lyndon, listen to the soundtrack to set the mood to paint.
