Hi all, last year was my first Pledge year and I found it quite useful in keeping me going. As for last year I'm working through a huge basing backlog of 1/72 Napoleonics so I'm counting based and 'finished' figures mostly. January was a bumper month, got quite a lot based and even painted some Swiss needed to round out units. Bought: 0 Painted: 12 Swiss Based: 1er/ 12me Ligne 24 2me/ 12me Ligne 24 3me/ 12me Ligne 24 1/1er Suisse Ligne 24 1/2me Suisse Ligne 24 1/3me Suisse Ligne 24 Foot battery 2 guns, 8 crew Foot battery 2 guns, 8 crew Generals 2 1/54me Ligne 24 2/54me Ligne 24 Foot battery 2 guns, 8 crew Horse battery 2 guns, 8 crew 1/55me Ligne 24 2/55me Ligne 24 1/105me Ligne 24 2/105me Ligne 24 1/ 5me Voltigeurs de la Garde 24 2/ 5me Voltigeurs de la Garde 24 MTD: +378 YTD: +378 This month was fairly plain sailing as most of these figures were nicely painted and didn't require much if anything to get them up to scratch. This isn't going to continue very long! Next month I have 3 fairly easy battalions of French that just need some shako bits & bobs repainting, but then I have 4 battalions that practically need repainting so will take a while. |

Nowhere the numbers involved in Stosstruppen's and Timbo's efforts, sad to say. I painted 16 humans and two horses. All but one were Vikings or fantasy/Medieval types, many with lots of details. Purchased: one figure. So, I'm off to a good start for the year. Goals for this year: I'm going to try to get 300+ figures painted in 2022. In any case, I hope to paint significantly more than I purchase and try to sell off the things I will never get painted. Grelber |

Good month for buying but not painting. Bought= 0 Painted= 83 gain=83 been painting for others so little time for own figures and February looks like it will be the same. it will give more money to spend but then i will buy more figures( O well, that's life). |

Impressive numbers, guys. In 2021, Covid intervened twice to prevent much activity. I managed 24 Carthaginian Sacred Band, 16 Hospitaller sergeants and 30 Huerista Federales for my brother's 'Wild Bunch' project (in 28mm). The latter was a birthday present which I regretted… and regretted… before finally getting over the line only 6 months late. 28mm take me way too long so 2022 for me is going to be 15/18mm: Ney's III Corps of Borodino in AB Figures, aiming at 1 division of 3 (it's at least a 3-year project); and starting in March, the Yorkists of Bosworth in Khurasan. Both for Impetus but in an ambitious way: about 40 figures per base in 3 or 4 ranks. I am lucky in that my 'lead mountain' is really only a foothill, if not little more than a mound. I think I only have 120 or so figures on hand. Good luck with your projects! Let's hope 'real life' allows us this time. |

Not quite sure as to how many I painted but I bought exactly zero minis – did buy PSC Marders, German trucks and Bren Gun Carriers – painted up a bunch Off the top of my head, 60 WWII 20mm infantry and 2 guns with crews; 12 28mm Eureka Toy Town cavalry, 24 28mm SYW Austrians, 12 28mm Foundry Cossacks so I think I am ahead of the game |

A nice start to the New Year. bought – 24 (Empress ARVN infantry 28mm, 24) painted – 42 (Perry ACW 28mm, infantry 12, Artillery crew and guns 12, Cavalry 12, Generals 6.)

Some of you guys put up impressive numbers. My goal again is to paint 500 figures which I almost did in 2020 until I bought a Saxon army of over 500 figures in December from a friend who decided it wasn't going to get done. So maybe this is the year. Bought 0 Painted 16 Hypaspists 4 Persian Heavy Cav 24 Phoenician Marines 8 Saxon inf Total 52 Any month I do more than 45 figures is a good one for me. |

I didn't manage to get off to a great start – was hoping to get a lot painted now I am (almost) retired and not painting for other people… I have a fairly large lead mountain to reduce so intend to minimise spending this year. Painted: 16 Celts Bought: 0 Sold: £600.00 GBP worth of figures, rules and games… |
huron725 | 04 Feb 2022 8:52 a.m. PST |
I just painted 60 miniatures in 2 days. All 10mm AWI by Old Glory (5 miniatures to a base). You can paint 1 base in like 20 minutes if that. Does that count? |
Stosstruppen | 04 Feb 2022 10:37 a.m. PST |
@huron725 Of course it counts. The Pledge is more of an individual accounting rather then a competition. For me it helps motivate me to paint, as well as keeping track of how much I acquire opposed to what I get painted. The goal being to reduce/eliminate the lead mountain, and get things painted for play. Everyone has their own goals. |
FusilierDan | 04 Feb 2022 1:16 p.m. PST |
huron725 as Stosstrupen says it is more of a personal challenge than any thing else. I use it to control the amount of lead I buy. I try and paint an equal amount to what I've bought if I do more even better. Most years I'm 5-10% over, most. I count one as one regardless of scale or type, infantry, cavalry and tanks all count as one. I also keep track using the Analogue Hobbies Painting challenge scoring. link 6mm foot figure = 0.5 point 6mm mounted figure, artillery piece or crew served weapon = 1 pts 6mm vehicle = 2 points 10mm foot figure = 1 point 10mm mounted figure, artillery piece or crew served weapon = 2 points 10mm vehicle = 3 points 15mm foot figure = 2 pts 15mm mounted figure, artillery piece or crew served weapon = 4 pts 15mm vehicle = 6 pts 20mm foot figure = 4 pts 20mm mounted figure, artillery piece or crew served weapon = 8 pts 20mm vehicle = 12 pts 28mm foot figure = 5 pts 28mm mounted figure, artillery piece or crew served weapon = 10 pts 28mm vehicle = 15 pts 40mm foot figure = 7 pts 40mm mounted figure, artillery piece or crew served weapon = 15 pts 40mm vehicle = 20 pts 54mm foot figure = 10 pts 54mm mounted figures, artillery piece or crew served weapon = 20 pts 54mm vehicle, limber, etc. = 30 pts |

Wow Saber6! You are a machine! I am never happy with what I paint so don't want to dive in too deep. I mean, we can all see faults in our children, right? |
Saber6 | 08 Feb 2022 8:31 a.m. PST |
For me the only way to get them done is en masse. Basic paint jobs and 'the Dip'. Typically 7-10 colors per figure and then brush on "the Dip". More in the queue, of course some of these have been waiting 20 years… |
