Does anyone know where I can find Dark Age/Medieval 28mm Swabian infantry with the two-handed sword?, ( other than Old Glory Miniatures), also if someone has the Old Glory Miniatures Swabians, could you please post a good picture of them, Old Glory miniatures photography of their products isn't very clear and I know buying from them is hit or miss on quality ,and size of the mini can vary from product to product Thanks |

I've used some V&V plus any models from various ranges that have Normans using 2 handed swords. Crusader have plenty with 2 handed axes |

My go to place for Dark Ages 28mm is Gripping Beast. They have great Germanic infantry, including a pack with the 'Swabian knot'. They are spear-armed, however, and in poses not appropriate for 2h swords. They do sell plastic Germanic warriors which also look great, 8 of which can be swordsmen according to their website. I don't do plastic but for conversion work, that could be something you may consider. I wonder if it might be easier to add the distinctive top-knot in putty to 2h swordsmen from other ranges? Carolingians or Franks, just for instance. |

Is there any evidence of them wearing a hair knot this late? It would be covered by a helmet anyway. |

My evidence for the knot is only that the GB models have it; nothing more. They are unarmoured and without helm. I claim no knowledge of DA hair-styles haha |

I think Regicide is talking about the Ancient German Barbarians that fought the Romans, with the "Suebian knot" tied in the hair, I'm referring to the Swabian swordsmen that fought at the Battle of Civitate in 1053, they pretty much resemble Normans in armor style but carried double handed swords, Brother Vinni miniatures has what I'm looking for, but their miniatures cost a small fortune, and I really don't feel like converting any , although I have the Victrix Norman infantry and could possibly do some of those with two handed swords, I may just spend $50 USD and get the pack from Old Glory, the pictures on the website suck, and it's either hit or miss it's their packs , I did buy two different style packs of the medieval Crossbowmen from them and they're not too bad, they just tend to be on the smaller side of 28mm and sometimes the casting is a bit off on a few of the miniatures |

I am talking about those guys, kind of. 7th to 8th Century rather than 5th, though. Definition problem: to me, the 11th Century is medieval rather than Dark Age. Glad someone helped, anyway. |
