A fun and fast-moving game at the club this week as Austrians rush up to oppose Prussians trying to emerge from a pass in Bohemia. Photo-AAR here:

Very interesting. I like your reflections, what was special at this encounter.

It is nice, that the frontier battles 1866 are not only represented as a big battle in the BBEB book, but also have their single scenarios.

Thanks, Decebalus. The 'Reflections' segment of each blog post is an idea I borrowed from Steve J's 'Wargaming Addict' blog:
wwiiwargaming.blogspot.com

The BBEB grand scenario covering all the frontier battles is an interesting one that provides some insights at the operational level. However, I agree, it's nice that we now do them justice with four separate scenarios: Trautenau, Soor, Nachod and Skalitz (five if you include Gitschin). Langensalza was a really good addition to the 1866 collection too, and in fact remains one of the scenarios I always recommend to new players as a really fun small game for learning the BBB rules.

Langensalza. Maybe!? But who really has a hannoverian army? Ok, i am not a big fan of proxying.

I'm sure King George of Hanover wouldn't have a problem with proxies. They'd all look the same to him, poor chap!

Hanoverian aren't difficult to find, but their flags…….. hens teeth!
