The web page is not very enlightening but suggests that it will be mainly a trader focused event

If there is no bring and buy and few participation games I probably wont go – although I do normally have a quick look at the traders they are not my prime reason for attending

Request seconded, the event was a crush in the past. Some clear idea of what is planned would really help the public. Neither the web page nor Facebook are much help.

We are going and so are a good number of traders according to their websites.

I do wish show organisers would give more info on what is planned even where it can't be guaranteed (which would be unrealistic in current circumstances).

Expecting some update since the original announcement isn't unreasonable in my opinion but I've had a look around the 'net and the same sentiments appear on quite a few forums.

I go mostly for the traders but find I spend a fair bit of time looking at games and chatting with the guys putting them on. Just hope the lack of info doesn't put too many people off.

I am going, and it is primarily for the trade stands. The games always look good but are not my main interest.

I don't expect there will be much in the way of fresh air or even mask wearing. A bit risky at this point of the pandemic.

Internet sales will keep you going until more promising conditions come along.

Lance & Longbow society will be running a participation game based on the Italian Wars.

Well Jim, I'd have to say I'm expecting a lot to be unmasked (but I will be) but I'm as safe now as I ever will be (3 jabs and recently recovered from Covid) so I decided to take the risk. I also expect there may be more ventilation than usual, that is certainly possible and (at least technically) required of the venue.

I can see why some people may think as you do Jim and I wouldn't criticise anyone for avoiding shows for a while yet, particularly if they or theirs' are vulnerable.

It would be great if we could trust attendees to be masked and be careful about spacing but, sadly, that isn't going to happen.

Thanks Tony

I do have a live-in daughter with health issues who has only had one jab so far so there is a risk to her.

Also, I am gradually becoming an old man and am finding the 4 hour drive to York a bit of a challenge now.

My lead/plastic/resin/MDF mountain is well endowed so no need for a trade visit besides the Falkirk show (30 minutes drive) is only 4 months away.

I'm already old Jim (well, 71) – and loving the freedom even where it comes with failing faculties up to a point. I don't drive but we can be in York fairly easily by train & we make a weekend of it.

Lucky you to have Falkirk show so close. I only went once but loved it. We have Phalanx locally and looking forward to that later in the year. Joy of six in Sheffield is likely to be the only other show for me this year.

I need more figures like I need a hole in the head but I do like to chat to traders & gamers and look at what others are doing in the flesh. The Internet is wonderful but it isn't really 'real' shopping.

I've managed to snag a spot at York with my Brécourt Manor game. There are a number of games being put on, with York restricting numbers to help everyone have a safer time. Please come along and support the show.

Still nothing official and no info on how they might restrict numbers. Who wants to show up then find they can't get in? I am still on the fence here.
