I found – in Italian – what for me is the best book about the Austrian Army (above all organisation and uniforms) for the years 1848-1849
here my review:

I have had this for some time. An excellent publication and one which has helped my Italian…

It is a fantastic book – even if you don't know any Italian, Google Translate helps decipher the tables and captions regarding uniforms. Outstanding set of color plates. Highly recommended, if this time frame is your interest.

I could use that for 1859 and 1866!

@stalkey and Co You can't; The book refers just to the period 1833 – 1849. After the First Italian Indipendence War the Austrian Army underwent a deep process of reforms and new uniforms. Even more in 1866. Maybe you can use for ranking.
