"This is an exquisite reenactment of Spartan generals and commanders (polemarchoi) by the Historical association Ancient Hoplitikon. Kudos to the reenactors. A polemarchos (πολέμαρχος) was the commander of a Lacedaemonian ‘mora' (μόρα). During the Peloponnesian War, the mora was a basic unit of the Spartan army, consisting of 576 hoplites and 100 cavalry…"
