This week I got the rare (coffeetable-) book "La Garde (1854-1870)" published by Capitaine A. Richard in 1898. It contains several hundreds of photos and sketches plus plates showing the paintings and sketches of Charles Morel (a student of the famous Edouard Detaille). As these plates show the magnificent guard uniforms I photographed them and published them in my 2e empire portal at link Greetings from Berlin Markus Stein |
