Easterlings vs Gondor & Fiefdoms 800pts

picture

Nick Gower and I met up for a great game at Heroes Heroes' Retreat – Gaming Lounge in San Antonio Texas. I fielded my Easterlings for the first time (painted them during the COVID shutdown last year – 2020). I also just finished Khamul on Fell Beast. Nick fielded a very powerful force led by Boromir with the Banner of Gondor.

I was able to get off the first charge, and my Kataphracts led by Amdûr, Lord of Blades did some early damage to their foot opponents. The battle raged on my right as Khamull entered the fighting with the Fell Beast doing the most damage.

The battle on the center left (my phalanx) was less effective for the Easterlings, but they held their ground long enough for the combined Nazgul and Kataphracts to turn the tide of battle.

Boromir never rolled any dice higher than a 4, he spent most of his might to win battles, but failed to wound or kill Khamul, and in the end was slain by the Nazgul – thus ending the battle.

A very fun game!!! Nick and I both came to the conclusion that since Boromir was not painted, he did not fight well.
Watch for some HUGE news from Texas to be announced on 1 January 2022. Until then – have a great New Years.

I agree with your conclusion. Boromir must be painted.
