Looking for B movies or real movies that inspire that Cold War feeling with left over WWII gear.

Things along the lines of Dr. Strangelove, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, communists allied with aliens to bring down democracy in the west, etc.

Early James Bond [when it was meant to be funny, not "serious"] are another great example.

Villains with furry cats and cigarette holders, foreign accents and pretentious airs to world domination.

I'm familiar with a lot of the big famous flicks, but I'm sure there's plenty of communist plots in lesser known flicks from 1945 to 1965.

Thanks in advance for your support of low-brow culture!

The Giant Claw.
Them!
The Beginning of the End.
Target: Earth.
Invasion: USA.

In several of these the giant stompy monsters are stand ins for the commies. Invasion: USA is about a "real" invasion by the Soviet Union.

Good luck.

Night People – a nifty little Gregory Peck cloak and dagger thriller set in post war Berlin before the wall went up. Not humorous, but neither is Body Snatchers.

One, Two, Three – Coca Cola big wig Jimmy Cagney has to chaperone wayward heiress who goes and gets mixed up with Uber commie East German boy and has to deal with bumbling spies, an ex Nazi major domo, and a threatened promotion. Zany comedy.

The Flying Saucer – CIA and KGB investigating UFOs in Alaska.

Big Jim McLain – Ludicrous John Wayne vehicle with the Duke rooting out Commies in Hawaii. Alan Napier (TV's Batman's Alfred) is the slithery head red.

Hell and High Water – rousing sub thriller with Richard Widmark taking a war surplus boat into Red Chinese waters to avert a Nuclear False Flag attack.

Soldier of Fortune – Clark Gable plays an expat American running a gangland syndicate in Hong Kong. He's approached by Susan Hayward who's trying to get her husband back from the Reds when all honest channels fail.

And, of course, a bit off topic, The Mouse thar Roared.

Battle Beneath the Earth with the Chinese building tunnels under the USA. They're coming!

Thanks for the movie ideas!

Seven Days in May, with Burt Lancaster attempting a military coup and Kirk Douglas trying to stop him, probably fits into this category.

Maybe the Flint Movies (with James Coburn) and/or the Matt Helm Movies with Dean Martin – have their share of over the top bad guys with lots of henchmen in secret bases with WW2 style helmets and machine guns which look like WW2 Grease Guns.

1952 movie Invasion USA not to be confused with 1985 movie Invasion USA (which has Chuck Norris fighting an invasion of Florida by Soviet/Cuban led guerrillas – at Christmas time no less).

The Russians are Coming the Russians are Coming- would make an awesome game, with different weird reaction cards for both sides.

Great movies here. Would say the Mouse that Roared too.
