It is the morning of June 10, 1861, and down the Hampton-Yorktown Road and towards the rebel constructions across Wythe Creek come the Yankees -

The Confederate "masked gun" of the Richmond Howitzers has fired its opening round and missed, but has convinced the enemy regiments that the direct approach might be too costly, and a Union movement to the right begins -

Now the attack re-assembles anew –

Out the other side, but up ahead the rebels are waiting behind their trenches -

The mad dash – some troops already reeling back from cannister fire on their flank and musketry from the defenses –

The 5th New York actually makes it and crashes into the 1st North Carolina, and a battle for the barricades ensues……it is a gallant effort to have made it this far, but the Zouaves are beaten back -

History was not changed today, but a fun game was enjoyed, and the guys fought well and hard…..that made my day too.

Very enjoyable. The table is beautiful. I certainly admire it.

Very nice indeed.

I personally am not a fan of teddy bear fur ( they are after all sentient animals) but having used it for war games it is highly practicable and transportable.

However, your styling has elevated it to something much more than a dyed mat.

The troops are beautiful and those flags are gorgeous.

Happy New Year.

Best wishes,

Chris
