Where they all of one type in a squadron? Or did they mix types? And when on a mission did that hold true or did they mix them to provide gun protection for the torpedoes? |

According to the book "Night Action" by Peter Dickens (who was there), they did sometimes mix types. An example is described starting on page 65 where 3 gunboats combined with 2 MTBs. MH |

Squadrons were generally one type of boat. But different types of squadrons (MTB and MGB) could be at the same stations and were often sent out together. |

In the med the US and UK would plan ops together to make use of the US radar and the dogboats heavy guns. I also believe in the med the UK would mix MGB AND MTBs 2:1 in the dogboat flotillas. Of.course that was the only place they had mgbs by 1944. Cheers Joe |

No worries. As you might imagine I did a fair amount of reading on the subject. Cheers Joe |
