Gentlemen, I recently used a 10mm horse as a pony for a mascot for my 15mm highlanders. Now I am thinking of a pulp project ala Skull Island/King Kong/Mighty Joe Young. Would a 25mm Gorilla be suitable? If so, does anyone know a manufacturer

Depends on which King Kong.

Original King Kong was around 50 ft tall
Peter Jackson remake had him only around 25 ft
Kong: Skull Island he was now over 100 ft tall
Finally, Kong vs Godzilla he was over 330 ft!
Mighty Joe Young was around 12 ft tall.

So depending on your human scale, you can do the math.

You might find what you need in plastic. Lots of plastic "educational" toy African animal sets include gorillas.

Search around the dollar 25 stores for toy gorillas, too. Never know what you'll find… ;-)

Acheson Creations, Giant Ape Walking

It is listed as 4" high, I have one. Looks big around 28mm, but not overwhelming.

There was also a company that made an ape that was about 2 or 2 1/2 inches tall in lead. Had to drill out the socket of the upraised arm as it was so much lead it would always drift downward.

Can't remember who made that one. I use them and as a parent/child combo.

Reaper makes a giant gorilla, Kabaka Kwana, the Ape Lord. He is a giant gorilla for 28 mm figures, made of a lot of metal, and he is pricey link One of their photos shows him beside a 28 mm figure, and he must be 60 mm or so, even with three feet on the ground and the fourth raised to bat at something.
Reaper also makes more normal sized gorillas, that would be appropriate for use with 28 mm figures and might be used as giant apes if you are using 15 mm figures. link

Crooked Dice make a 28mm Mighty Joe type in resin while Foundry make a 28mm metal gorilla in their African animals range.
