I don't know much about this period of French military history. Would these uniforms have been worn on campaigns against foes other than fellow Frenchmen?

Would the Chintoys Spanish Conquistadors, the Engineer Basevich Ottoman Turks, and/or the Barzso Barbary Pirates make historically-accurate opponents for these French Musketeer figures?

Despite being known as "Musketeers" They were actually armoured cavalry and usually served mounted. Their "muskets" were actually arquebus/carbines and foot service would be of the special operations variety as shown in the Lester "Four Musketeers" film. These figures would suit for foot/dueling activity but you would need mounted figures for normal military service.

I think this is more of an " about town" look.

Some nice stuff coming out these days for plastics. I really like the pig farmer set as it can fit in any era.

Thank you for the feedback Shagnasty and 79thPA -- I probably do not need to begin a new period in 54mm plastic (17th Century French) after all.
