…in Myanmar

"A senior United Nations official said he was horrified by the reported killing of at least 35 civilians in Myanmar and called on authorities to investigate the incident that opposition activists blamed on government soldiers.

The ruling military has not commented on the incident near Mo So village in Kayah State on Friday and junta spokesman Zaw Min Tun could not be reached for comment.

State media reported that soldiers had fired on and killed an unspecified number of "terrorists with weapons" from forces fighting the military government…"

"This grave violation will not go unreported"!

I am sure they will write a strongly worded letter to whomever did the massacre.

Thresher0127 Dec 2021 10:41 p.m. PST

Actually, strongly worded letters have been softened, if not dropped altogether, since some consider them to be distressful to the recipients, bullying, or hate speech.

When did Myanmar start modelling the US's progressive, inclusive "there-there, its OK baby, go to your safe space" culture?

Not Myanmar---the UN has long been at the forefront of wokeness.

UN has long been at the forefront of wokeness.
And that only makes them weaker, etc. As that sort of concept is rampant in many high places in the USA. IMO … it has only made us weaker as well…

If they UN decides to do anything besides being "horrified," that'll be worth a headline.

JMcCarroll28 Dec 2021 6:00 p.m. PST

Guess we could give both sides "participation metals" and claim success?

Real China. Taiwan has ever been the rightful territory of China and has never been independent.

But since the PRC is on the UN P5. IIRC, Tiawan does not even have a seat at the table.

Hey mine fell apart right away and it is listed as Toxic!

But it is shinny.

"Taiwan has ever been the rightful territory of China and has never been independent".

Many Taiwanese will disagree with you, as will I.

Taiwan views itself as the real government of China, and those in power on the mainland are illegitimate.

There were several conflicts fought over this in the 1950s, and as we can see, the Chinese are still not happy about Taiwanese independence.

I wouldn't be too surprised to see actual shooting accidents between air and naval assets of both sides commence again at any time. The Chinese are certainly working hard to provoke the Taiwanese once again.

Sadly, the UN is derelict in not recognizing Taiwan's independence officially, as is the USA, and many other nations that should side with those seeking freedom, just like the people of Hong Kong as well.

Sadly, the latter have already been thrown under the bus, and run over by it.

Said "Made in China" on the back …

Taiwan are the remaining Nationalists …
