Regarding smoke and the volume of the same: I used to be a AWI re-enactor ( 23rd Royal Welsh Fusilers). Even with the superior quality of todays black powder AND the far reduced numbers of troops in a reenactment, AND the reduced powder loads used, the smoke clouds were staggeringly dense, I can only imagine what it would have been like during the period. |
