I won't add any real spoilers here, since I don't want to take away from the experience of those watching it for the first time, but did want to share a few thoughts with those that have seen it to see if you agree.

SPOILER ALERT – Read No Further if You Want to Avoid Them.

I've enjoyed the show thus far, but am really left wanting more. Perhaps that is on purpose by the writer(s) and director.

There seems to be so much more potential for other settings and story-lines given that it is an anime cartoon (would love to see some footage of off-world colony planets, spaceships, and space stations), but this series just seems to be following the well-worn playbook of the original movie.

It's set for a 13 episode series, so I'm hoping that the next 6 episodes will move the story forward, or break new ground (though I admit to not holding out much real hope for that, sadly, given what I've seen to date).

I find the over-reliance of the flashbacks to be a bit tiresome, but of late those seem to have been reduced in frequency. I get trying to reduce the costs of production, but over-use of this technique can be annoying.

Also, I'm finding the slow moving plot to be a bit too slow for my tastes. I think that the first 6 – 7 episodes could have easily have been compressed into 3 quite easily, providing more opportunity for more character development, additional story plot lines, how people live and work in the future, and more views of greater L.A. in the future.

Still, I will continue to watch to see how the series plays out, but am hoping for a bit of new ground to be broken in the Blade Runner future.
