Does anyone have any photos comparing size of figures between Empress Miniatures and Gringo40's Vietnam figures? I mean are they the same size or is one taller than the other? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

From what I have read here, the Gringo 40 are somewhat larger and bulkier. Once again, I have not seen them in the person, however, I believe the Empress figures are a good fit with West Wind or Baker company. Hopefully, someone who actually has both lines will post some side by side pictures. |

Yes, Gringo 40s are noticeably taller and bulkier. Depending upon your level of tolerance they may fit in different units on the table – I don't use them together. I wouldn't recomend combining them in the same unit. |

Definitely don't look good together. |

Thanks to all of you who provided input and I appreciate the photos FusilierDan. I agree that they wouldn't go together. |

Not side by side certainly, but adjacent units, as said above, would work fine. Once painted in similar style, the discrepancy in size is less obvious. I have actually combined the two in some dioramas eg the Dong Ba Gate. Prone and kneeling figures from either company will mix well with standing figures from the other. I think there are some outstanding castings from both and it would be a shame not to exploit that. |
