Greetings. Is there any current combination of Warlord Games plastic sets that can be used to create Australians from the Asian Campaign (trousers instead of shorts, I think)? I'm aware that there is a good 10 man metal Australian squad but I'm looking for a bit more diversity to put together a reinforced platoon. Cheers. |

If you are okay with using some greenstuff to turn shorts into long trousers, the 8th army/Commonwealth box would be okay, l have done this with some Perry Desert Rats, trimming the shorts down helps a little. |

Don't know about plastics, but I've mixed in some Warlord Chindits in with my later war Australians. Could you use the Chindit figures? link link |

You might want to look at the "Diggers in the Pacific" line from Brigade Games link You can see some photos of the ones I painted up on my blog: link This photo shows them near some Warlord plastic Japanese:

No there's not. But you have three excellent metal options from Eureka Miniatures, Brigade Games, and Warlord Games. |

Although it makes the figures look interesting, how common was it for Aussies to actually FIGHT in bush hats ? |

It depends. In big battles helmets all the way. For jungle patrol work bush hats and the later 1945 jungle berets. But it's not just the bush hats hornswogglee. They used US army gaiters and trousers. The Brit's had cargo like trousers with pockets. So to do a decent plastic conversion I would use the American plastic box set for the lower body and the Commonwealth plastic box set for waist up. Honestly, easier to buy metal where it's all done for you. |
