On another thread, a TMPer mentioned basing his infantry on individual bases instead of the four or five man bases (e.g., FoW bases). MG teams and mortar teams are based in groups (as perhaps the norm in FoW). I like the individual base idea a lot. Do others do that? If so, what size and shape bases do you use/recommend? |

I do, and have done for years. I'm currently using 1/2 inch cork circles. Use this for all my 15mm figures. |

I use 3/4" steel washers, so they stick to my magnet lined storage & transport boxes. |

Just make sure to avoid stainless steel washers. They aren't as strongly attracted magnetically. |

Hi as the one who started that thread I read that post and I have to say that my eyebrow raised. It seems to me that way madness lies, speaking personally 20mm would be the minimum scale to base miniature's in this way. However I'll have a crack! My 28mm/32mm miniature's are based on 25mm base's My 20mm/25mm miniature'are based on 20mm base's So if I were to individually base 15mm miniature's I'd probably go for 10mm or 12mm base's. If I were you I'd do something like this: Infantry I'd base 2 model's on a 25mm round base. Officer's individually on a round base. Bazooka type team's on square 20mm base's Mg/mortar on 25mm square base's. In this way you have a type of short hand. In my opinion if you want individually based miniature's I'd opt for 20mm |

While most of my stuff is on the multibase, I do have a couple of platoons for each force on single bases. I usually use 1/2" washers for them, unless the casting is larger and then I go larger. Better for a skirmish game. |

Yep all my 15mm are individually based (bar a few two man joined models) on washers or also recently mdf rounds for AWI and their unit bases (and most get new heads too!). Literally hundreds now. BALM |

I game almost exclusively in 6mm and 15mm. 6mm are for grand tactical games and foor troops are multi based. 15mm for grand tactical are multi based. All my skirmish gaming is also in 15mm, and figs are individually based. |

A friend who works in sheet metal gave me a few hundred 15mm round sheet metal bases. This what I use for individual figures. I use 25mm Sheet metal bases for 2 man teams and 30mm for 3 man teams. |

For individual bases I just use pennies. The vast bulk of my stuff is group based though, I just base leaders, snipers, FOs etc individually. |

3/8's washers should work. Unless the figures are prone. |
