You were asked – TMP link

On D-Day, the British landed on Gold Beach and Sword Beach. Which of these is more interesting in terms of wargaming?

The British also landed on Juno. 79th Armoured (The Funnies) and Commando units. What did the other 60% say?

Obviously the British were a very small contribution compared with that of the Canadians.

But it always amazes me how the Canadian contribution to "The Longest Day" is forgotten. (Not one single mention in the film of course). The Airborne input is never portrayed in print, or film, or gaming that I can see. The landings? You have to wait until they meet the 12th SS H Jugend, and the atrocities, before they rate a mention.

The Airborne input is never portrayed in print,

You've said this before, and as I pointed out to you then, H&C published a good book on the British, Canadian and French paratroopers of D-Day.

D-Day Paratroopers Volume 2: British, Canadian and French

And there's this

Men of Steel: Canadian Paratroopers in Normandy, 1944 (Canadians at War): 2

True. I was exaggerating by saying "never portrayed", but "rarely, very rarely" might have been more accurate.

Thanks for the reminder though. Must prompt me to seek these out.
