More on my ongoing project to record my 20mm Second World War collection. This is a look at Russian infantry and some of their support options. There's a particular focus on Chain of Command but really it's just an excuse to roll out the collection. Most figures are from AB with a smattering from PSC and SHQ. The Soviet officer with the pistol raised is such a classic image. Love it and the rest are also fantastic! Nice shade of green on the 76mm and the paint chips really bring it to life. |

Very nice brushwork and inspirational! I recently dug out a bunch of these I had bought when they first came out. As I prepped and prime them, they were so nice I just had to pick up some of the newer additions as well (I really like the Soviet Heroes pack). You have energized me to get cracking on painting them! A couple of questions if you don't mind…is the gun model from PSC? What are you using for the 50mm mortar? Thanks for sharing! |

A couple of questions if you don't mind…is the gun model from PSC? What are you using for the 50mm mortar? If you mean the Zis-3 76mm pictured here then yes, that's from PSC. The regimental artillery gun is from Zvezda but the other AT guns (the 45mm and 57mm) are also PSC. The 50mm mortar is in the PSC Soviet Heavy Weapons set, not something I'd recommend though as it includes the maxim with a seated gunner. Not only that the figures don't match up well against AB. |

Thanks for the info on the guns and mortars. I was thinking of the Zis-3 above, but I appreciate you pointing out the Zvezda infantry gun as well as some of their other sets! I think I might give the Early War Miniatures 50mm mortar a try. I appreciate the insights! |
