I watched the ceremony live today. 80 years ago. Leaves me a little speechless.

BTW I am tired of media/activists equating current events to Pearl Harbor. They have no idea what they are talking about, and it is disrespectful to the men, women, and children who lost their lives that day. Stop cheapening Pearl Harbor!

A "Day of Infamy" to be remembered. I am comforted by the juxtaposition of the "Arizona" and the "Missouri."

Pearl harbor was IMHO difficult to prevent. There was still a lot of Pacifistic feeling in the US, and the US military was still on a peace footing….mostly! – and who would think that little Japan would attack the mighty US?

But I agree, it is a day to remember all the fallen.

Tortorella +1

I too watched what I could of the ceremony. Dr. appt
made me miss the entire ceremony.

Mister Tibbles, I almost lost a tv set when on one of the
three "talking head" network news shows had a "military" historian
and another "conspiracy" historian discussing their books
and conspiracies that Roosevelt started the war. Neither
of these "fine upstanding gentlemen"(yes, read between the lines on that one, I don't think a post can be long enough to utilize all the profanity that is much much more worthy) ever spent a day
in uniform and I was in disbelief that anyone could be
that disrespectful on such a day of remembrance.

Yes, it is a day never to be forgotten.
