We have human civilians and many alien soldiers for our wargames, but do you know of any manufacturer of alien civilians? In the following image you can see a self-made & by mistake alien civilian, while working with Green Stuff. Hope to do more similar mistakes.

Hmm, with a little work that could be a Hutt!!! |

We do seem to be stuck with "Greys", insects, and humanoid type aliens based on earth creatures. Even the vast majority of "alien" vehicles fit into human history types. |

The CinC SEM line has a number of alien troop types. With a little work they could be made civilians. In some cases … But yes most these are human types. I.e. head, two arms & legs … Brigade & Onslaught have some aliens too …. |

Ainsty Castings and KillerB Games both have unarmed aliens. Some can also be made from Frostgrave plastics. |

Decades ago, I had a book (which I loaned to a friend & never got back) about the premise & production of the original Star Trek; it stated there was a line of dialogue in an episode saying that 80% of the known space-faring races were humanoid--Klingons, Romulans, Earthlings, etc. This was a production decision since the budget was limited & special effects were expensive. It was cheapest & easiest to use make up or masks & gloves & to employ very short or very tall actors as aliens. |

@Herkybird – yes, even a renown one! @Dan Cyr – indeed, there is so much room to improve. The majority of "aliens" are inspired by humans or their creations (like robots) or from nature. Something more abstract could help, but it also need to be balanced in terms of having something not ruining a wargame table (for example, something that destroys the make-believe). @Legion 4 – I don't have access to all the line of miniatures from CinC SEM, but from what could I managed to get SEM25 Raptor Infantry Support and SEM40 Ha-Lu-Ki Servants Troops can be easily modified by cutting the weapons, so yeah, you are right, thanks; the aliens from Onslaught are good (Tzacol, especially, Legion stalker maybe) and from Brigade maybe Cimexian Bugs (currently unavailable). I don't want the aliens to be war-like and there aren't too many options, even less to fall out of the category Dan Cyr described. @Richard Brooks – thanks, but I am looking for 6mm miniatures. @SpuriousMilius – thanks for the info. There was even a TNG episode called The Chase where Federation, Klingon, Cardassian, and Romulan attempt to solve an ancient genetic puzzle and they all meet, and a cover of "fluff" explains it all, any suggestions of 6mm manufacturer of miniatures? |

Have to agree- Not a lot of non-humanoid aliens in 6mm, and even fewer civilians. Didn't used to be that way entirely, as even QT Models had some Polarians ( modelled from the book by Piers Anthony) in their range, long defunct of course. You can get a lot of civilian aliens and otherwise in 15mm, which is a recent innovation, but 6mm has yet to feel the trickle-down for alien forms as yet. |

Yes, maybe cutting the weapons off of some could be your answer. |

@Covert Walrus – nice to find out about a new company, too bad no one produces its miniatures. We have nowadays many complex ranges of miniatures from different manufacturers, hope to see in the future someone to produce alien civilians. |

A number of the new Crooked Dice Colony 87 figures, both aliens and humans are modelled in relaxed poses often without visible weapons. link |
