I'm starting up a Wars of the Roses project and had a question about many of the nobles and knights who "showed up" at the battlefield. Mainly the question is how to represent them in units. For example, if a knight or noble attached himself to a unit of Somerset's household troops, would he still have his personal standard there alongside those of Somerset? Would any troops he brought be in his livery or those of the division commander? There also doesn't appear to be a good source of who fought where and with which units. Is the gamer free to just add these guys here and there for period flavor? Thanks.

I go with free to add here and there and have lots of flags in my units. Looks cool! :)

I doubt anyone can give a definitive answer, though with retinue troops I cannot think that they would have any other than their own Lord's livery!

What 1-2% are "knights" the rest are "gentlemen"
