From the Indochina War, two fire teams of paratroopers in bush hats on patrol:

Vraiment formidable!

WOW!

Those are the fantastic! you really got the camo pattern down and the mixed bag of kit that French Union Forces wore.

The aluminum stock on the carbine is a good touch.

Magnificent! Great paint work and impressive job with the
camouflage! Look forward to seeing more of your work!
Thanks for sharing.

I can never see French in Indochina without a feeling of pointless tragedy and waste, way beyond the US and their allies' experience. The French rarely won a battle against the Viet Minh. The US Army/Marines (arguably) never lost a battle against the VC or NVA. Contrast Dien Bien Phu with Khe Sanh for the support to the defence, even accepting that the former was a poor site to defend, dominated by the surrounding hills.

The figures are great and the research that went into their armaments is impressive. The white stocks I took to be unpainted, rather than the folding-frame metal stock of the para M1 carbine. The weapon looks more like a Garand. The Carbines shown all have wooden stocks…painted

Thanks very much.

It's on with the North Vietnamese now. Lots of variations with their uniforms too.

I am looking forward to creating the terrain as well.

The silver-painted stocks are for the French MAS-36/CR39 Paratrooper Rifle. The stocks were made of aluminium and folded back on the breech to shorten the overall length for a jump.

Very nice work for a tragic period.

Disco Joe26 Nov 2021 6:54 p.m. PST

Nicely done.

Thanks for the info about the aluminium stock. Again that shows the level of research that went into these figures.

Great work! You have really brought those figures to life.

Worth resurrecting this, even 9 months on. They are a terrific range and very imaginative and "different".

Worth a look to see the variety of figures (and even heads for transplant);
