I am 50 now. I see 20/20, but I can not paint for six or eight hours anymore. I can't retain new information like I once did. I find myself checking rules more often. My hands are beat after 35 years in trades. My back does not allow me to play endlessly, and effortly anymore. Yet, I am at my zenith. Why? time… I have more time to game. I am some what well off. My finances are debt free. This means Saturday gaming instead of Saturday work. I have a library of game systems and troops. I have options. I have a network of players that I see any where from weekly, to monthly. Age has brought a lesser desire to win, yet more desire to play. I know what I like. I am less inclined to head down a rabbit hole. I do not buy wildly. I plan out armies and this leaves less waste. Keeps me focused. I am finishing my last huge project. American War of Independence. I want every thing, but I am content that I have enough. I have a huge Gaullic army, Norse vs Saxson, Burgundian vs Swiss, AWI all sides, Cowboys and Indians, Von Wissman's Column and the Abushiri Revolt, WW2, too much to list. Viet Nam, huge VC, Montengards, SF, Regulars, NVA. Modern Africa, Star Wars, All in 15mm. I also have table settings for each of these eras. Time to play!!!! It is all "down hill" from here….but so is a sled ride!!!
