Unless I know for certain the deck is grey, I use a craft color called "Country Maple". |

A lot of the deck planking was unseasoned wood. Unseasoned wood in hull construction often led to warped boats too. A nice light colour also makes the ships stand out visually. martin |

Vallejo Deck Tan is a nice greyish color that lacks some of the yellow I often see on ship models |
