… Plans To Invade Ukraine

"The United States has warned European allies that Russia could be plotting to invade Ukraine in a repeat of the 2014 annexation of Crimea.

Given the current weakness being displayed, this outcome would NOT be surprising at all, sadly.

Abject weakness invites aggression.

Haven't we been hearing pretty much this same thing ever since the Crimean annexation? Seems to me meddling and stirring up trouble was even worse a few years ago.
And the article cites increased US military activity in the area rather than a weakening.

After Zapad21, the units that took part never went home and are massed around the Ukraine border. That is unusual. Attacking into Ukraine would be unusual with Winter coming on, though. Not sure if this is real or jus saber rattling.

There's also the whole border issue going on between Belorus and Poland.

Umm. I believe the Russians have been in Ukraine for some time now.

Would theoretically Russia fighting across an adjoined border in winter not be a "more logistically simpler" affair than the West trying to deploy and fight into a winter defensively? Would Western forces even be prepared for that given how grim things got for the Germans in WWII? My random thought for the day.

Well I'd be interested in seeing if that will occur.
