No, not really, but that tag line is so crazy you could almost believe it.

Just a heads up that this Veterans Day, Nov. 11th, will mark the 100th annv. of the dedication to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.

Bonus for anyone who can name the ship that carried the W.W. I soldier's remains from Europe to the United States for burial in the tomb.

Winner – Chicken Dinner!

USS Olympia is the only surviving ship from the Spanish American War era, well worth the trip if you are in the Philly area.

Only problem with that is……you would have to be in Philly. I guess Tac 2 level body armor would be good enough, but you could go lighter with 2A and hope the rounds are only 9mm.

It is a great trip, restaurants on the ships moored near by and you get to look at the battleship New Jersey across the water. Also the maritime museum a few 100 yards way down the pier was a hidden treasure.

USS Olympia has been in need of restoration for a long time. I've kicked in many times to keeping it afloat and still wonder why the US Navy doesn't grab this piece of its history before it is gone.

I was on board 2 years ago, very few other visitors, nice able to tour at own speed, sad that the ship is being allowed to fall apart (and sink). Only once it does will anyone official pretend to be upset.

Actually thought the neighborhood was nice. A sub was also there to visit and and I believe you can see clearly the USS United States across the water.

I work in city often, sadly hate the drive, but during daylight that I'm going there never seen a problem.
Never went to the USS Olympia, maybe should someday when there.
