Here are some photos of the new Soviet infantry from Henry Turner. The figures can be re-sized from 10 to 28mm. I printed them at 15mm. I love the huge range of poses, which will go quite nicely with Team Yankee. The vehicles are from M. Bergmann's Cold War STL files, so not part of the Turner Miniatures range:

Do you have a link? These do look great!

The full set of files is part of a Kickstarter, due to be released in about a week I believe (see here). There are three figures that can be downloaded for free to try out. I was able to scale the figures easily for 10, 15, 20 and 25/8mm. The gun barrels are too fine for printing at 6mm.

Tried printing the samples in 10mm scale on a Prusa filament 3D printer and found the weapons too fragile. Did not try a .1 nozzle, using a .4 standard. Example running holding RPG had weapon break off both side while removing support maternals. Please print pictures of your prints.

I took the 10mm file and enlarged it 300% on the X and Y axis and 275% on the Z to get my 28mm sample. The 10mm weapon is designed a bit chunkier than the 15mm, so by starting with that as a base and expanding it a bit more than the height I came up with a durable weapon that printed on my Prusa mini at .4nozzle .1 layer height. I will try to take some pics tomorrow and post them up on my gallery.

One nice thing about the project is that if you spend the extra for the blender files you can convert the basic Soviet poses to other Warsaw Pact countries.

PS the KS is live now with only about 8 days to go.

My figures were resin printed, which meant that the files did not need resizing. Thanks for the tips for the FDM printer, Waco Joe.

I don't know about the Blender files for the Soviet packs but, having purchased the Blender files for the Napoleonic figures, the files should be a great asset. It is possible to produce unique poses for every figure that you print. It is a great advance in the world of 3D printing… IMHO.
