Refought the Battle of King's Mountain yesterday using Osprey's "Land of the Free" rules. This was only a second outing with these rules, so there was a bit of muddling about, but in general the mechanics and results seemed authentic. American forces managed a minor victory so not quite as decisive as the historical outcome. The photo shows Carolina militia advancing on a weak spot (mainly Stone Mountain minis) while Virginians attack (off camera) to the left.

I like the single rank figures.
