… To Capture Oil Tanker "Iran's Revolutionary Guards thwarted an attempt by the United States to detain a tanker carrying the Islamic Republic's oil in the Sea of Oman, Iranian state TV reported on Wednesday, saying the incident took place recently. Reached for comment, the U.S. Navy's Bahrain-based Fifth Fleet said it had seen reports of the incident but at present had no information to provide. Iran's state TV said U.S. forces used helicopters and warships to try to block a tanker carrying Iranian oil in the Sea of Oman. Iran's English-Language Press TV said the tanker was back in Iran's territorial waters…" Main page link Armand |

"I've seen the Iranian claims, they are absolutely totally false and untrue … it's a bogus claim," Pentagon spokesman John Kirby told reporters. |

And you can believe government spokesman from the Pentagon. Is this the same guy who said we took out a "terrorist leader" with drone strike in Kabul that turned out to be an aid worker having dinner with his 7 children. Just curious. |

And you can believe government spokesman from the Pentagon. Nope. Don't believe Iranians, either. Nor the media, Chinese, Russians, politicians in general, my mailman, scammers, phishers, hackers, my neighbor, … this is going to be a long list…. |

My $ is still on the Iranians not being very truthful … |

Neither side can be trusted to tell the truth, and Baghdad Bob would be very impressed with the breadth, scope, and brazenness of their lies, which occur on an hourly basis. |

Now they're saying it's the Iranians who seized a Vietnamese tanker. |

Forget about anything the Iranians say. Is it practical and reasonable for the Pentagon to share operational details, if any, with the media? I might be content for them to follow WW2 protocols on disclosure, misinformation, misdirection, etc. as they see fit. Or do we just always assume that our side is also lying because they are incompetent and corrupt, etc.? What then? |

Or do we just always assume that our side is also lying because they are incompetent and corrupt, etc.? What then? Truth is somewhere in the middle…and we won't get told. In reality the US intelligence community has proven itself to be largely worthless for a couple of decades. They seem to miss an awful lot of both big and small things.
Is this the same guy who said we took out a "terrorist leader" with drone strike in Kabul that turned out to be an aid worker having dinner with his 7 children. That strike they were so sure of they called it "righteous."

Truth seems to be in the eye of the beholder … or the media outlet, propaganda minister, etc., etc. |

We have made bad strikes many times in modern wars. They are calling it "human error". Maybe so. SO I go back to the training issues we have been talking about. Human errors? Train your a@# off all the time and be ready. |

They are calling it "human error". No worries, Skynet will be along shortly to sort it all out for us. And I, for one, welcome our new robotic overlords. |
