A month or two ago, someone mentioned that this brand of paints was available at Dollar Tree, priced quite cheaply. So I bought a bottle of 'Deep Brown' (I figure on spending a couple of bucks a month for 'experimental purposes' will yield some positive results…) painted a few horses with it, let the paint dry a week. I have some bottles I've made up of 'black wash', with various combinations of matte medium, _Pledge_ (aka 'Future') Floor Care Finish, Winsor & Newton 'Flow Improver', and distilled water. Can't specify the ingredients of the wash I used on that paint. However, lightly brushing on the wash was sufficient to cause the paint to loosen and come off in flakes. Not an optimal result, IMHO. |

Interesting. I haven't had that problem, but I have noticed that the Deep Brown takes forever to dry. Original Profiles article here, with comments: TMP link |
