Hey, there used to be a series of books for both WW1 and WW2 about individual battles, they weren't very big and always paperback and usually had a visitor guide at the back of the book for the battlefield. Does anyone recall those books? |

Yes!!! Awesome thanks very much. I got a WW1 bug and I'm trying not to stray into painting up a bunch, but these books were always so cool when I was younger. |

Hi I have 2 for sale $12 USD each with free us shipping. Battleground books World War I Hindenburg Line series Villers-Plouich by K W Mithchinson SC1999 in Fine for $12.00 USD Villers Plouich and its adjacent ridges were among the last centres of German resistance west of the Hindenburg Line. The capture and consolidation of the hamlet and nearby villages in April 1917 necessitated ferocious and well-executed attacks by several British divisions. When British and Dominion troops again approached the Hindenburg Line in 1918, some of the bloodiest engagements of the Hundred Days were fought over the ridges of Villers Plouich, Beaucamp and La Vacquerie. Battleground books World war II Normandy Series Operation Bluecoat; British 3rd Division/27th Armoured Brigade by Ian Daglish SC 2003 in Fine for $12.00 USD After two months of bitter combat in Normandy, Operation Bluecoat transformed the campaign into a war of movement. British and German armored divisions were flung against one another. Over the rugged terrain of the 'Suisse Normande', thrust met with counter thrust in a rapidly changing mobile battle. This is the story of the breakthrough begun on 30th July by 11th Armoured Division, Guards Armoured Division, and 15th (Scottish) Division. This was initially opposed by 21. Panzer Division, and later by the Germans' most powerful divisions in the west: 9. SS-Panzer 'Hohenstaufen' and 10. SS-Panzer 'Frundsberg'. link to pictures imgur.com/a/AyIGKTF |

At first I thought Mike was asking about those old Ballantine "Violent Century" digest-sized books. They were my intro to the world wars 40-something years ago. It made Avalon Hill titles more relatable. '
