We are less then a month away from Historicon. What's everyone bringing to sell / looking for?

I'm looking for 6mm H&R Napoleonics. Probably 10/12mm WW2.

15 – 18mm Napoleonic but not getting hopes up

Grumble8710617 Oct 2021 2:11 p.m. PST

On Sunday I plan to be selling a consignment of 100 plastic ACW figures (size 60mm) painted (and some modified).

robert piepenbrink Supporting Member of TMP17 Oct 2021 3:17 p.m. PST

As a flea marketeer, the crates are packed, but I'm about ready to wimp out. If I decide to make the trip, I'll post prior to the 30th.

As a buyer, looking for H&R Napoleonics or Ancients, and any non-Ancients 2mils--but mostly looking for surprises. Any chance of Heritage Rohirrim?

HMS Exeter17 Oct 2021 5:25 p.m. PST

Heritage Rohirrim?

In your dreams my friend. Fantastiques OR Elan Merch. I got 36 Elan Merch Saruman Orc recasts at FI '19 and still don't completely believe it.

Wackmole917 Oct 2021 9:26 p.m. PST

I think the person who bought Knights & magic and is casting figures, may know if the LOTR figures are still around.

From this range I own the fellowship,1 ring wraith and Théoden and Rohan standard bearer.

HMS Exeter17 Oct 2021 10:20 p.m. PST

There was a guy on ebay, "tradersmythers" who had resumed production of the original Fantastiques Der Kriegspielers line. He only listed about 8 figures a week. He had somehow managed to unsnarl the IP morass that resulted from the Heritage liquidation.

The ebay listings stopped after several lots went unsold. He may have lamented the effort or he may have decided to shift to another selling platform. I cannot say.

If someone knows about ongoing sales of the 2 Heritage Middle Earth lines, please post info.

I once had hundreds of Heritage figures. Foolishly, I gave about 50 away as a wedding present, and when I went to replace them, found the line was gone. I tried for years to rebuild and grow the collection, but finally decided it was a losing effort and ebay'd all but a few that got left behind when I quit ebay because of Covid.

I didn't think it would be easy, but that's the point of flea markets: you don't drive 400+ miles each way to buy stuff you can get over the net. Really, you don't do it for projects like this, either, but for stuff you don't know you were looking for; Well, I've padded my returned old buddies out to a (just) viable army, so it's not do or die.

HMS Exeter18 Oct 2021 5:24 a.m. PST

Good luck then, RP. Good hunting.

Oddball18 Oct 2021 6:00 a.m. PST

50 rare out of production figures for a wedding gift?

I should have invited you to my wedding.

All I got was some fine china place settings and candlesticks.

As a smaller scale fan looking for 6mm or 10 mm Ancients/Dark Ages or Medieval and 1/6000 WW1&2 , I/3000 AOS or 1/2400 Ironclad/Renaissance, I am almost always disappointed at Wally's Basement. While I am sure many fans of the larger stuff and books are pleased, for me, one mans trash is pretty much never treasure.

Grimmnar18 Oct 2021 2:54 p.m. PST

I'm just happy for a con. But most likely be looking for scfi myself and paints.

Bellerophon199318 Oct 2021 3:26 p.m. PST

I will be ditching dozens of board games, mainly of the designer variety (Euros and FFG games), hoping to get rid of them all.

HMS Exeter18 Oct 2021 3:53 p.m. PST

I only stayed on site once before. I remember the Sunday load out was a hot mess as the number of gamers and the scope of their baggage was such that the elevators got super overloaded super quick. I took to pushing the "up" button to get on, ride the rest of the way up, just to be on it when it started back down.

I have no plan to ever try to Wally at Valley Forge.

snurl118 Oct 2021 10:35 p.m. PST

You can find the LOTR and other Heritage figures at:
classicminiatures.net
Michael handles all ordering through email, just ask him for a list. He casts as a hobby, not a full blown business.
I have ordered from him many times. He's always very clear in communications.
He has several unreleased figures from those lines too.

WarWizard19 Oct 2021 7:18 a.m. PST

I sold at a previous flea market session at the Valley Forge location and I don't recall having any issues.
If I sell at this one it will probably be on Sunday. Too buys to schedule it in for any other session.

historygamer19 Oct 2021 7:22 a.m. PST

Sunday is always hit and miss. I am wondering what the overall attendance will be like now with the self-imposed mask requirement in HMGS space, and what the attendance pattern might be given the holiday for some on Thursday.

I sold at a previous flea market session at the Valley Forge location and I don't recall having any issues.

Assuming it's in the same spot, it's a bit of a hike from the Other Side of the complex. Only bothersome if you have to make more than one trip IMHO.

I'm doing Thursday night and Sunday. Too many good games in between and too long without a convention to miss the opportunity.

Brian9819 Oct 2021 3:12 p.m. PST

The flea market should be in the same place as last time.
I'll be bringing 15mm Napoleonics to sell. Both painted and unpainted.
Also, Wings of War planes if anyone is still interested in that.
I'll be looking for any 28mm Medieval/Dark Age figures.
Actually starting to look forward to this. It's been way too long.
Thanks.

Elaborate on the Wings of War planes.
List of what you have and prices?

cytaylor20 Oct 2021 4:45 a.m. PST

I'm planning on bringing 28mm and 15mm painted ancient and Crusades armies/figures to sell. Will be there to game on Friday and the flea market on Saturday.

Brian9820 Oct 2021 5:26 a.m. PST

Viper911 – Will do.
Grimm – There are well over 100. They are not in the original boxes, but are in mint condition with all cards and game pieces. They were part of an estate collection, so all proceeds are going to the HMGS Education Program.
Let me know if you need more details.
Thanks.

cytaylor – Interested in the figures you are bringing.

Let me know what you have.

Bringing a couple dozen boxes of 1/72 plastic Napoleonics, several painted units of WH40K Space Marines (Dark Angels and Salamanders, Death Watch), a few painted 15/18 mm Napoleonics, some mags, and a few books.
My brother may also bring some stuff.

Interested in,

Are the people here trying to pre-buy the flea market on TMP actually going to the show or buying now because they are not going?

Old Glory Sponsoring Member of TMP20 Oct 2021 6:46 p.m. PST

Hmmmm -- Perhaps I should try to sell all of Old Glory at the "flea market ????"

Russ Dunaway

Rotundo21 Oct 2021 1:30 p.m. PST

Hi Russ, May I ask what is going on with your website?

Old Glory Sponsoring Member of TMP21 Oct 2021 2:54 p.m. PST

It crashed and must be totally rebuilt.

Russ, what about selling OG at a Little Wars flea market?

Disco Joe24 Oct 2021 5:32 p.m. PST

I thought a flea market was only for people trying to sell the stuff they don't want anymore and not for dealers.

Dadster Supporting Member of TMP25 Oct 2021 8:00 a.m. PST

Disco Joe – you are 100% correct. D

kcabai25 Oct 2021 8:58 a.m. PST

I only brought it up, because they did.

"Hmmmm -- Perhaps I should try to sell all of Old Glory at the "flea market ????"

Russ Dunaway"

Disco Joe25 Oct 2021 10:04 a.m. PST

Kevin, I take it that dealers pay more in the dealer area then someone does in the flea market. If so and you allow a dealer to sell in the flea market then why would any dealer want to pay more to be in the dealer area?

DaleWill Supporting Member of TMP25 Oct 2021 1:10 p.m. PST

Disco Joe:
I'm sure other with more info will chime in. The one big difference is the flea market is suppose to be a 'cash-only' place. No credit cards allowed.

Dale

Disco Joe25 Oct 2021 3:20 p.m. PST

Dale, what I was told before is that the flea market was not for dealers.

I think Russ was speaking tongue-in-cheek.

robert piepenbrink Supporting Member of TMP27 Oct 2021 4:03 a.m. PST

Tables. The straight answer--well, one straight answer--is that flea market tables are more expensive per hour than dealer's room tables, but you can buy flea market tables in three-hour chunks instead of renting for the whole convention.

So if I had enough stuff that it would take most of the convention to sell it off--this was a plan under consideration at one point--I'd need to try for dealers' tables. But if Russ, say, only wanted to dispose of a few stray castings and thought he could do that for cash in 3-6 hours, he'd be better off signing on as a flea marketeer.

Of course, if he was actually selling Old Glory as opposed to some Old Glory products, he'd need a customer with more cash on hand than is normally seen at a miniatures convention.

Geechrules27 Oct 2021 6:43 a.m. PST

I am interested in buying 28mm Nappys. Painted and nonpainted. I will be there!!!!

Does anyone plan on bringing any?

Apache 629 Oct 2021 2:26 p.m. PST

If anyone has some fairly modern US or Russian/Warpac ROCO or other HO scale vehicles I'd be interested.

kcabai29 Oct 2021 5:01 p.m. PST

Apache 6,

How does 94 x T72s, 94x T62/T55s, 54x M60A1s, or 54x M1s, sound?

Apache 631 Oct 2021 5:00 p.m. PST

Kcabai: Wow! That sounds amazing! When are you selling them and what are you asking for T-72s and M-1s? Are you looking to sell small numbers or just as battalion sets. I was hoping to get 4 M-1s and 5 T-72s, to round out existing units. I don't need a Tank Regiment of T-72s, but what are you asking for it?
