Remembering Marx WOW Figures

If you were a kid in the 1960s who loved history and toy soldiers, you probably had a WOW figure!

I have some 1848 Austrians and Hungarians that I picked up some years ago second hand. The bags are marked with codes, but I have lost who made these.

Example AUC5 (looks like Cuirassier Command, 3 figures, Office, Standard and Trumpeter), AUC8 (looks like Cuirassier at the ready)

Thanks for your help!

Maybe 19th century miniatures?

No. Command are bags of 3 horses and 3 riders. Others are 4 Horse/riders or 8 foot.

Remind me a little of Tabletop. Not Peter Pig or Old Glory or Rank and File.

Freikorps?

I think they may be from the UK. I think I found a listing for them 6 years ago

I'll look

It depends on their height but they're probably QRF/Freikorp or Essex but I doubt they're 1848, as the only minis in 15mm that are marketed as 1848 Austrians are currently made by Honved Miniatures. There was another line of 1848 Austrians made by Aude (an Italian company) but they haven't been available for a decade or more.

The link below has QRF's Austrian cavalry offerings for 1859:

They could also be Warrior Napoleonics or Essex or Lancashire. I'd need a pic or two to figure out what they are. The 3 command for cavalry and 4 for troopers or 6 inf. command and 8 infantry packs are pretty standard for 15mm. However, QRF/Freikorp markets their cavalry command with 4 figures (making them a much better buy, in my opinion).

What you probably have are Franco-Prussian, Austro-Prussian War (1866) Austrians or Napoleonic Austrians.

I looked at those. I have more codes that are not listed on their site. I also have Hungarians (about 10 codes) that don't seem to be listed

Saber6,

Sorry, but are you talking about codes for QRF? They redid some of their Austrian 1859 offerings a couple of years ago.

Could you snap a few pics and post them? QRF have the tendency to use figures from different ranges to represent other eras and it would be interesting to see what you have.
