This is inspired by a local radio talk show. He has "Fun Friday" discussions, where the nutjob conspiracy theories are drowned out.
"The Office" was of course set in Scranton, and even had some scenes filled there.
A survey company the station works with wanted Frank to ask about favorite Office episode. I confess I never watched it.
But Frsnk threw it open to All Time Favorite tv episode, no limitations.
This seems like a jolly good poll where the "winner" might get 4 votes total. grin

Anyway, I have three.

1. Game of Thrones. Jon Snow beheads Janos Slynt. This is one of the few "feel good happy" episodes of the whole show.

2. WKRP Cincinnati. Throwing the turkeys from the helicopter. "Oh, the humanity!"

3. Hogan's Heroes. For some reason, both Klink and Hogan are in Paris. Klink is unaware.
Hogan is a concierge in a beret and throws a bucket of dirty on Klink's spotless boots. Hogan mutters "C'est domage!" It cracks me up because I had just learned that day in French class that it's an apology you don't really mean.

1. "The Untouchables" The Rusty Heller Story with Elizabeth Montgomery.

2. 'The Blacklist': When Huey Lewis was the guest star.

2 1/2 men when the witches tried to take over Charlie and his mom "saved" him".
Justified episode when Boyd's father was killed.
Justified first episode when Raylan kills a criminal in Miami and gets exiled to Harlan county

Last of the Summer Wine Christmas special, "CRUMS", followed closely by the LOTSW Christmas Special, "Whoops."

Are You Being Served episode, "Camping In."

I thoroughly enjoy Britcoms.

The last episode of Breaking Bad. Great ending to the best television show ever.

redbanner414515 Oct 2021 4:41 p.m. PST

I got it agree John about WKRP and throwing the turkeys out of the helicopter.

Stryderg15 Oct 2021 5:35 p.m. PST

X-Files, "Home", the "banned" episode with the mom inbreeding with her kids. Straight up creepy.

Last episode of Babylon 5. Thousands of years of Earth's future history, summed up in an hour.

Final episode of MASH. I would still watch that show.

phssthpok15 Oct 2021 5:51 p.m. PST

Newhart, Halloween episode.

Star Trek TOS episode 'This side of Paradise' always gets me.
as does the episode 'Balance of Terror'

Stargate SG-1 'Window of Opportunity' as well!

robert piepenbrink Supporting Member of TMP16 Oct 2021 6:19 a.m. PST

Anyone else remember Sgt Bilko, "The Court-martial of Harry Speakup" in which the US Army has enlisted a monkey and is now trying to bring him up on charges?
But of course Classic Trek "Balance of Terror" and "A Piece of the Action" and DS9's "House of Quark."
From X-Files, the lake monster episode, and the "Headless Horseman" episode of Kolchak: the Night Stalker.

Hey You16 Oct 2021 6:52 a.m. PST

Blackadder Goes Fourth – Private Plane
Red Dwarf X – Trojan (These Swedes; They expect too much)
Person of Interest – The Devils' Share
The Big Bang Theory – The Barbarian Sublimation
Archer – The Man From Jupiter
The Avengers – The Girl From Auntie
Two and a Half Men – Is There a Mrs. Waffles?
and of course the WKRP Thanksgiving episode (As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly).

Personal logo Parzival Supporting Member of TMP16 Oct 2021 7:23 a.m. PST

Another agreement on the WKRP Thanksgiving episode. It's almost all just audio with reaction shots, but it's stinkin' hilarious. "As God is my witness, I swear I thought turkeys could fly!" laugh laugh laugh

The Community paintball episodes were indeed great, as is their Pillow Fort vs. Blanket Fort episode (narrated by Ken Burns).

Star Trek: TOS— Balance of Terror, City on the Edge of Forever, Amok Time… too many good ones.

Star Trek DS9: The Trouble with Tribbles Crossover with TOS. Brilliantly done, and doubles the humor. "We do not discuss it with outsiders." "Do they still sing tales of the Great Tribble Hunt?" "That's Kirk?" (The ultimate inside joke, as the character pointed at is played by Shatner's frequent stunt double.) Also, both of the "wheel and deal" episodes with Jake and Nog.

Star Trek TNG: Can't recall the title, but an alien probe makes Picard live an entire lifetime on an alien world in his mind. (It's the one where he acquires an alien flute.) Powerful, and hard to watch more than once.

Stargate SG-1: The one with the black hole, the one where O'Neill and T'ealc are trapped in a time loop (hilarious), the one where O'Neill is replaced by his teenage clone, the ones with Marty the alien… again, too many good ones to mention.

Space: Above and Beyond: Chiggie Von Richthofen. (Later gets stolen and remade by BSG reboot, though less well.)

Stargate Atlantis: The one in Las Vegas. Man, that's a tough one, but fantastic. The episode that introduces Michael— this is SG:A's version of DS9's "By the Pale Moonlight" and it's one that makes you think.

M.A.S.H.— Five O'Clock Charlie.

Babylon 5: Molari and Lennier's night on the town, No Hiding Place,— again, too many good ones.

Batman: The Animated Series— The one that introduces Mr. Freeze, Almost Got ‘im— again, too many good ones.

The West Wing: The one on the campaign trail where Toby, Josh and Donna get left behind. Hilarious and biting. Also "The Supremes", Ainsley's first day at the White House, the Chicken Suit episode, Senator Vinnick returns to his life post-election day… the policy stance is almost universally dumb, but the show is entertaining, and sometimes brilliant.

Doctor Who: "Blink"— You'll never walk by a statue the same way again…

The "Chalice of Truth" episode of Relic Hunter.

And--though I hated the program--The M.A.S.H. episode in which they're trying to get ribs from Chicago.

Here's a couple:

The Enterprise Incident, Star Trek OS

There are countless classic episodes with comedy and drama. For me this was the most powerful. The West Wing.
Broadcast 1999, In Excelsis Deo [ series 1 episode 10 ].

Give it a quick view, the best part is only 4:45, but it packs a wallop.

It was starting to look like a tie, everyone with one vote each. Lots of good television listed above.

Goober16 Oct 2021 7:22 p.m. PST

Space: 1999 "Dragon's Domain"
Blake's 7 "Blake" (the "Everybody Dies" episode)
Stargate "Menace"
Doctor Who "Vincent and the Doctor" and "The Doctor's Wife"
Ultraviolet "Terra Incognita" (really good, little known UK vampire show)

Major Mike17 Oct 2021 8:03 a.m. PST

The dream episode of St. Elsewhere that ends with a ZZ Top dream.
YouTube link

The Jeff Foxworthy Show where the company owner makes all the employees reenact a local battle of the Civil War where all the locals that had fought died. There is also the episode that involves Krispy Kreme Donuts, a bug and mischievous kids trying to get the donut with the bug eaten by a certain person.

Sanford and Son episode with Lena Horne and "little lame Lamont".

Blackadder goes forth – final episode
Red Dwarf – That episode where the "tarantula" crawls up Lister's trousers.
Big bang theory – the one with Summer Glau on the train.
Buffy the Vampire slayer – Hush.

rmaker17 Oct 2021 4:36 p.m. PST

Ditto HMS Exeter on Dragnet: The christmas Story

Murdoch Mysteries: Sir. Sir? Sir! – the alien invasion episode. Actually, most Murdoch episodes are pretty good.

A good number of Zorro episodes.

Cmde Perry17 Oct 2021 5:39 p.m. PST

Amazing Stories, "Mummy Daddy" (only M&M Ep.1 rivals it for my funniest episode ever)

Mork & Mindy, Episode 1 (Robin Williams!)

Dr. Who, "Blink" (both a great story and masterful use of low budget special effects)

Miami Vice, "Smuggler's Blues" (and an underrated song of the same name)

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the series finale of Newhart. I'm not listing it as one of my own because I haven't seen it yet – but everybody tells me it was one of the best finales ever.

WKRP Turkey episode

The X-Files episode where the crew from "COPS" is following them around. Scully really hates these guys. I think she locks them in a closet.

The Hill Street Blues episode where Joe Coffee goes into a shop to buy cigars for poker night and is killed by an armed robber.

Agree with so many on this thread but did not see this one mentioned.

Taxi – the episode that Rev. Jim takes his test for his hack license. "What does the yellow light mean?"
