Steve, I trust Snopes not a whit. "Independent fact checkers" aren't. |

As to the extent of any insurgency, the nature of our society, with internet and nation-wide commerce and such, plus the fact that both rival ideologies are pretty dispersed (NOT evenly, of course, but each is dominant in many areas) means, I think, that anything affecting Arizona is likely to be affecting Texas and Tennessee. Unless the government can clamp down on ALL communication -- and thereby paralyze the economy. |

I think there there is no significant upper level leadership for an insurgency. With all the various "factions" in the USA today. It would be hard to get one total leader overall, IMO. You'd see small actions among the different "Groups"/mobs, etc. With no one in charge with either overall. Save for at the local level. E.g. Would Antifa ally with the Neo-Nazis/KKK/White Supremacists ? Would BLM and/or the Black Panthers become allies ? It may just come down to Socialists/Communists vs. Nationalists, etc., etc., etc. Antifa would attack everyone … as they as anarchists … etc. FOX vs. CNN … both vs. MSNBC … 😊😯 and thereby paralyze the economy. Wait … isn't that happening now ? 🤔🤨 |

Steve, indeed, one of the key points of our present discontent is the eroding of authorities to whom both sides can appeal. Spend any amount of time on conservative blogs and you will read case after case of "fact checkers" getting it wrong. And the "errors" always tend in tjhe same direction. We lack confidence in Snopes etc because we regularly SEE examples of bias there. The other side routinely critiques, e.g., Fox News in the same way. The days are long past when Walter Cronkite could say "that's the way it is" and most of the country believe him. |

we regularly SEE examples of bias there. If it's mainstream media … it is biased. |
