You were asked – TMP link

What technique do you use for figures which will be used on a snow-covered battlefield?

I recently did a large micro-armor project for some winter Eastern Front battles. One method I found that worked well was to mix white glue and white paint, then paint that onto some of the base, then dip it into the snow flock. It seems to bind pretty well and if the flocking rubs off the white paint underneath will still show through.

I remember reading once about tiny glass beads spread over a binding of thick white paint. Never tried it personally.

I'd worry about insect issues using sugar. And humidity.

White art sand works fine for me.
