Fond memories of this one…

Funny how Airfix still give you a full canvas tilt in this kit (assuming that it came from the pictured "Vintage Classics" box) whereas they discontinued the similar item from their White halftrack.

Thank you for saying that. I thought I recalled the M3 Half Track coming with the kit. I started building kits 40 years ago in the early 80s. Airfix is mostly what I had access to at the local hobby shop. Fond memories indeed…

Plus there was their soft plastic version

Built one as a kid. I don't recall an MG, though… but a VERY long time ago!
Soft plastic Airfix was easy to cut down to 'waterline'… and at the time, literally cost pennies! 17p if I recall!
As a cargo hauler, I had no real use for DUKWs, so never bothered with it much.

For someone with advanced modelling skills… (NOT ME!)… there was the failed attempt to use DUKW equipped with a London Fire Brigade extendable ladder in support for US Rangers at Ponte Du Hoc on D Day!

Nice work. Bookmarked your site.

You could make a nice little Rhine crossing diorama using the three Airfix amphibians: DUKW, Buffalo, LCM3. Rather than waterlining them you would probably set them in a box type ep base so you could see the depth.

My modelling patience is no longer up to such things.
