First off – the song I am thinking of is most definitely NOT "Blood upon the Risers."

My dad used to sing a paratrooper song. I believe but am not certain, it was called "Skyborne you Paratroops" – it certainly had that line prominently among the lyrics.

My brother and I have looked on line for the song without success. If anyone knows of it – it will be someone here.

Other prominent lines:
ski-troops like the wind we go, we're sons of guns with tons of guns who won't take no for am answer…

I presume your father served as a paratrooper back in the day – which unit was he in?

your dad more than likely was singing the 82nd Airborne Division song

We're all-American and proud to be
For we're the soldiers of liberty
Some fly their gliders through the enemy
Others are sky paratroopers

We're all-American and fight we will
Till all the guns of the foe are still (get ready)
Airborne from skies of blue, we're coming through, let's go

Put on your boots, your parachutes
Get all those gliders ready to attack today
For we'll be gone, into the dawn
To fight them all the 82nd way, hey, hey

We're all-American and proud to be
For we're the soldiers of liberty
Some fly their gliders through the enemy
Others are sky paratroopers

We're all-American and fight we will

No, that wasn't it. Near as I recall, it went something like this:
Skyborne, you paratroops!
Paratroopers fly the blue,
ski troops, like the wind we go!
We're sons of guns with tons of guns
who won't take 'No" for an answer!
So can't stop those paratroops
from tumbling on into the fray!
Now it's not the way it used to be,
a bigger and better infantry
is on the march today!
Now it used to be the infantry did nothing but march all day.
Big ruddy guys with mud in their eyes went plodding along their way.
But times have changed and now we range to silk in a sky of blue;
we ski a bit and then we hit the silk of a parachute!
So can't stop those paratroops
from tumbling on into the fray!
Now it's not the way it used to be,
a bigger and better infantry
is on the march today!

The word "ski" in that context sounds a bit off – could that have been "sky" instead?

Well I be befuddled, as a Airborne Infantryman of 24 years, I have never came across this song. Thank you both.

I have never seen or heard of this before (a paratrooper since 1982), very cool find Major Mike.

Thanks for asking Kor.
