BIIIIIG thumbs up to this. I think it's the best horror roleplaying product I've ever read. Manages to turn the future mythos dominated earth into a fun place to game!

Like all Chaosium monographs, it isn't big on new rules (who really needs them?) but for a campaign in this milieu, I think you couldn't do better.

In fact, since it is set against the backdrop of humanity's war against the Old Ones, I think a wargaming campaign would be a real blast as well.

I'm not really big on the Call of Cthulhu rpg, but will definitely (at some point, got other stuff brewing now) run this with an QSR game called Realms of Crawling Chaos.

Suggestions on minis rules? I'd need something compatible with OSR, like Chainmail or Battlesystem 2nd ed. Of course, they have no rules for high tech weapons, but I don't think that would be too hard to modify.

It looks worth reading just for the pleasure of reading it. Thanks.

Imagine playing a knight-errant Mighty Child commanding a regiment of the Great White Legion against a Xothian and his hordes of dreamers, Tcho-Tcho and Deep Ones on a quest into the ruins of the Yakutsk to recover an ancient Russian weapons depot -and maybe by chance finding a Mad Monk along the way who has a forbidden tome that the Serpents are definitely trying to keep out of the hands of the Deathless…
